BLOOMINGTON, IN— The Fourwinds Resort & Marina on Lake Monroe will be renovated by its new owner, Traina Enterprises. The 123-room resort, which is situated on Indianas largest lake, was purchased by the Marietta, GA-based Traina in October. During the renovation, palm trees and tropical plants will be brought into the hotel and interspersed with waterfalls. The lobby, public spaces, restaurant and lounge will be the first areas to be renovated. Additionally, a new menu is being created with a variety of Caribbean and Polynesian dishes, while the bar will be in a bamboo hut with thatch roof and a drink menu featuring exotic tropical concoctions. The pool area will be redone with new decking, a brighter color scheme and tropical planters. In addition, a waterfall will be installed near the dry sauna and cascade into the pool. Exterior landscaping will include ponds and waterfalls, a gazebo, brick walkways and new playground equipment. Other renovations, which are slated for completion by the summer, include: a floating recreation complex and interior refurbishments including tropical print carpet and furniture plus bamboo planters.
