WASHINGTON, DC— Immigration reform— identified as one of the lodging industry’s most pressing concerns— will be the hot topic when representatives of several of this country’s business, labor and immigrant groups come together today, April 11, in the Nation’s Capital to renew their collective call to Congress and President Bush to pass appropriate legislation. It was noted the gathering— slated to be held 11 a.m. at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel here— will represent the first time since Sept. 11 this subject (and its accompanying call to action) is revisited. Scheduled to carry the ball for the hospitality industry at the multi-dimensional meeting will be John Gay, vp/governmental affairs for the American Hotel & Lodging Association, who will be joining top-level executive representatives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the AFL-CIO, the National Asian Pacific American Legal Consortium, the National Council of La Raza, SEIU, the National Immigration Forum, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, and the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism.
