LONDON—InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will expand its boutique offering in Edinburgh, Scotland with the opening of a second Hotel Indigo property. Hotel Indigo Edinburgh – Princes Street will operate under a franchise agreement with The Station Hotel (Newcastle), Ltd.
The 64-bedroom boutique property uses Scottish heritage design to reflect the local culture and history, according to the company—from paintings and portraits of famous authors, poets and artists reflecting the city’s literary background, to the contemporary Harris Tweed soft furnishings in each room.
The hotel is accessible to attractions such as the Scott Monument and the National Portrait Gallery, as well as an array of designer shops and independent retailers. The property’s destination bar, Juniper, and restaurant, Twenty Princes Street, are open to locals as well as guests.
