CHICAGO— Hyatt International is seeking to acquire a management contract in London following the expiration of its 20-year lease of the 220-room Hyatt Carlton Tower Hotel at the end of the year. The company has reportedly rejected the Langham Hilton and Churchill Hotels, however, it is believed that the company has shown an interest in the 783-room Strand Place Hotel. Meanwhile, the owner of the Carlton Tower, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum will reclaim the hotel as a part of his own Jumeirah International hotel chain. The split between the Sheikh and Hyatt was amicable. SOURCE: HVS International
