ANAHEIM, CA— The Hyatt Regency Orange County has concluded a $52 million renovation and expansion program with the completion of a $7.5 million south tower guestroom refurbishment. The latest project included installing new wall covering, paint and carpet in guestroom corridors and renovating elevator cabs and landings. The guest bathrooms were completely gutted and redone with granite countertops, fixtures, bath surrounds, new lighting and marble flooring. Additionally, the rooms received new carpet, wall covering, drapery and upholstery along with full-length mirrors and new furniture with a dark oak finish complemented by granite tops. There is also new bedding at the Hyatt Regency Orange County, which is one of the first Hyatts to feature the new “Grand Bed.” The Grand Bed features a Sealy Posturepedic 720 Series pillowtop mattress which eliminates the need for a traditional bed frame and dust ruffle. Instead beds feature a bed base and a box spring with custom-designed fitted cover. The Hyatt Grand Bed also does away with bedspreads, using down blankets and triple sheeting in their place. The top sheet of the bed features a decorative silk cotton stripe pattern in fine cotton twill along with a decorative throw. The Hyatt Regency Orange County has 654 guestrooms and 65,000 square feet of meeting space.
