JACKSONVILLE, FL— The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront has completed a year-long $15-million renovation project here. Renovations at the 966-room waterfront convention hotel included extensive changes to the guestrooms and suites, the four restaurants and bars, the rooftop pool area and health club, the lobby and front desk area as well as the front drive. Guestroom modifications included the addition of the Hyatt Grand Bed, new mocha-hued carpeting and window treatments and earth-toned furnishings. Each guest bathroom also received a makeover with new tiling and paint, marble countertops and gilt-framed mirrors. Modern light fixtures, convex shower rods and stylish shower curtains completed the transformation. The four restaurants and bars all underwent full conversions as well as rebranding and menu changes. Renovations to the front desk opened up the area for easier access and improved functionality. Darker woods, specially designed glass panels and softer illumination reflect a warm, Caribbean-inspired color palette. Comfortable seating arrangements were placed in the general lobby area, which provides complimentary wireless Internet access to guests. The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront also brought in new Life Fitness machines for the 24-hour rooftop health club, including six treadmills, two ellipticals, two stationary bikes and two recumbent bikes, each with a personal television. The health club also features two stairsteppers, a collection of free weights and nine strength training machines. In addition, new rubberized flooring was installed. The outdoor pool, adjacent to the health club, received new deluxe lounge furniture and an updated color scheme. The front drive was also redone. Pavers were brought in as overlay and the porte cochere received new lighting. New signage and furniture as well as newly designed landscaping and lighting are also designed to enhance curb appeal.
