CHICAGO—The Hyatt Regency Chicago, the largest Hyatt property in North America, will unveil the third phase of its $168-million renovation on April 1.
Bentel + Bentel is the architect/planner for the three-year project. Noteworthy elements of the revamp include the renovation of the lobby, featuring colorchanging LED lighting, light controlling louvers, new finishes on all surfaces and an art program designed to reflect and frame the river and city skyline.
In addition, the space features a new registration/concierge area with windows to the exterior and guest-friendly desks; a new seating area; and four reinvented restaurants. Renovated elevator lobbies carry the material elements of the new design to the East and West tower areas, and the Skybridge has been enhanced with new digital community tables designed to allow guests to use and charge their digital devices.
Earlier phases of the renovation included a revamp of the guestrooms.
