NEW ORLEANS—Hyatt House New Orleans/Downtown, located downtown on Poydras St. and Loyola Ave., is scheduled to open this fall.
An adaptive reuse of an existing 24-story office building, the 194-room hotel will occupy seven floors and connect to the adjacent Hyatt Regency New Orleans through a second-floor sky bridge.
The new hotel will be accessible to local attractions such as the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, French Quarter and Mississippi Riverfront.
“New Orleans has flourished over the past 10 years with current visitor numbers exceeding those before Hurricane Katrina,” said GM Jane Tebbe Shute of Hyatt House New Orleans/Downtown. “In addition to the city’s popularity in the tourism industry, New Orleans’ advancing medical district is bringing exciting new developments to the local market. We are excited to introduce those visiting New Orleans to the unique guest experience offered by the Hyatt House brand.”
Accommodations will feature 194 guestrooms, and studio and one-bedroom kitchen suites, which offer fully equipped kitchens, living spaces and bedrooms. Amenities include free WiFi access and remote printing throughout the hotel; a meeting and function room providing 636 sq. ft. of flexible, high-tech space for up to 60 people; H BAR featuring the Sip+Savor menu of home-cooked meals and full bar; and a complimentary morning spread—full hot breakfast served daily for guests, a build-your-own omelet bar and other rotating options.
Available public spaces include a guest market, 24-hour workout room, guest laundry facilities and social seating throughout the lobby. Additionally, the hotel offers a Very Important Resident program, providing complimentary grocery shopping, and other personalized perks, for guests staying 30-plus consecutive nights.
“The addition of Hyatt House New Orleans/Downtown will not only expand the diversity of room product in the city but also support the continued success of group sales efforts at Hyatt Regency New Orleans with the burgeoning BioDistrict nearby,” said GM Michael Smith of Hyatt Regency New Orleans.
