NEW YORK— The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and New York University (NYU) are holding a conference here today at the Marriott Marquis to discuss how hotels can cope with an industry in transition. The “Moving the Industry Forward- An Interactive Strategy Conference,” is presenting immediate solutions to the problems and issues now facing the hospitality, travel and tourism industries since the attacks of Sept. 11 and the resulting slowdown and in travel, and economic, activity. Featured panelists include Jonathan Tisch, chairman/CEO of Loews Hotels and chairman/Travel Business Roundtable; John Russell, chairman/AH&LA; Bjorn Hanson, chairman of lodging and gaming/PricewaterhouseCoopers; and Peter Yesawich, president/Yesawich, Pepperdine & Brown.
