NEW ORLEANS—HRI Lodging (HRIL) has named Michael Coolidge its new chief investment officer (CIO).
Coolidge joins HRIL from CSM Corporation, where he previously served as SVP of real estate, acquisitions and lodging development.
“Michael brings a level of expertise and depth of knowledge that we were seeking to help HRIL achieve its aggressive growth plans. At CSM, he was responsible for all acquisition, disposition and development activities for the CSM Lodging Portfolio. His enormous talents and solid relationships within the lodging industry will help us expand our hotel developments, acquisitions and third-party management activities,” stated Gary Gutierrez, president of HRI Lodging.
Coolidge has been involved in real estate for the past 20 years. Prior to CSM, he served as SVP of real estate and asset management at Watermark Capital Partners. Before that, he was VP of real estate and development at Global Hyatt, where he was directly responsible for all new full-service development and management opportunities for the western half of the United States and Canada. Coolidge also had a 12-year stint as SVP of development and project management at Sage Hospitality Resources.
Coolidge is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and Paul Smith’s College. He serves as a member of the Dean’s Young Alumni Advisory Council for the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.
