HOUSTON—With construction progressing on Hyatt Place Galleria and Hyatt Regency Galleria, developer Songy HighRoads recently revealed that the projects would open later this year.
The 325-key Hyatt Regency Hotel Houston Galleria located at the northwest corner of Sage Rd. and West Alabama Rd. has topped out. Designed by Gensler, the hotel will feature 350 sq.-ft. luxury guestrooms, 20 suites, 15,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, and a large fitness center overlooking the pool deck. The hotel is 14 stories and will total 260,000 sq. ft. Hyatt Place Houston Galleria, a 156-room select-service hotel located next door will be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year.
Atlanta-based Songy HighRoads is developing both hotels, while Aimbridge Hospitality will manage them.
Songy HighRoads purchased the former Galleria Plaza in March of 2013, which included two office buildings, a multi-tenant retail building and two stand-alone retail properties totaling 425,000 sq. ft. The 7.6-acre site is directly across Sage Rd. from Galleria Mall.
In addition to the Houston hotels, Songy HighRoads has just converted an 11-story office building into Hyatt Place Washington, D.C./Downtown/K Street, just two blocks from the White House.
