ROCKVILLE, MD—Jonathan Nehmer + Associates (JN+A) and HVS Design are providing architecture and interior design services for the new Hotel Zero Degrees in Danbury, CT, that officially broke ground last week.
The third in the Hotel Zero Degrees collection, this property will feature 111 guestrooms, a 100-seat restaurant and gathering space. The design conceived as a modern lodge plays off of bold contrasts between rugged architecture and contemporary furnishings and finishes, according to the firms.
JN+A and HVS Design teamed up to create exterior and interior designs that the partnership calls relaxed but sophisticated, minimal but not austere, subtle but impactful. Natural, earthy materials connect this property to the surrounding wooded landscape, while modern furnishings help to create a fresh, updated lodge look.
Throughout the public spaces, the theme of bringing the outdoors inside is incorporated through the use of large open windows. The open floor plan, with its flexible seating groupings, offers options for gathering and connecting. The guestrooms feature a minimal palette of warm grays, green, and pops of black for a graphic touch. The furnishings are straightforward and have clean lines.
The hotel is expected to be opened by the end of the year. Hotel Zero Degrees is owned by RMS Companies.
