KIEV, RUSSIA— Shareholders in the Hotel Ukraina here have voted to rename the hotel the Hotel Premiere Palace. The Ukraina name has been surrendered to the nearby Hotel Moskovsky, which will be renamed upon completion of the city’s main square. The Premiere Palace is currently Kiev’s only quality, international-standard hotel. The 150 guestrooms opened in January 2001 following two years of reconstruction work. In addition, construction began on an additional 167 rooms in March and will take 14 months to complete. The entire complex is slated to be complete by June 2002. However, the hotel’s supremacy is expected to be challenged by the planned development of Kempinski, Marriott, and Radisson brands in Kiev. All three brands are currently represented in Moscow.
