NEW YORK Arthur Andersen has reported that hotel profitability is on the rise in Asia-Pacific and is driven by double-digit occupancy growth in 10 markets. Asia s commercial centers Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore and Tokyo all recorded occupancy levels of more than 80% for year-to-date to September 2000, according to results from the Arthur Andersen Hotel Industry Benchmark Survey, Asia-Pacific. Seoul leads the region with 82.1% occupancy, followed by Hong Kong at 81.5%, Singapore at 80.3% and Tokyo at 80.0%. (12/1/00)
