NEW YORK The Hotel Pennsylvania here, which normally does not allow pets, is holding 900 rooms for show visitors and housing 1,000 dogs during the Westminster kennel Club s Dog Show taking place at Madison Square Garden this week. The hotel s laundry bill is expected to total $19,000 this week, normally a month s worth, to cover the extra towels for grooming and additional linens for sleeping. There are added air fresheners in the lobby, where the IAMS and Eukanubia pet-food companies have set up booths. Plus, exercise areas with sawdust have been set up on each floor for dogs who do not want to take a late-night walk. (2/13/01) SOURCE:The Associated Press
