MOSCOW—Originally built in the 1930s with Joseph Stalin’s approval as Hotel Moskva, the new Four Seasons Hotel Moscow will soon reopen in October 2014.
Interior designer Richmond International has created a contemporary homage to architect Alexei Shchusev’s original vision for the 15-story building. The exterior facade, which is showcased on the label of the well-known Stolichnaya vodka, has been restored and includes a new glass-topped atrium.
The 180-room Four Seasons Hotel Moscow will offer floor plans that range from 517 sq. ft. for a deluxe room to the 5,600-sq.ft. Pozharsky Royal Suite. This suite is located on the 7th floor with a terrace offering views of Manezhnaya Square and Alexandrovsky Garden. Additionally, the 5,000-sq.-ft. Minin Presidential Suite and five two-bedroom Grand Premier Suites are located in the building’s corner positions facing Red Square.
All accommodations have floor-to-ceiling windows, and many have step-out balconies. Guestroom features include ergonomic furnishings and desks, in-room Nespresso machines, and high definition TVs that swivel to show a mirror on the opposite side when not in use.
Technological innovations include iHome docking stations, media hub with international socket options, high speed Internet access, and an iPad in each room that allows guests to browse hotels features and services, book in-room dining and Spa appointments. Marble bathrooms include separate showers, with complimentary custom amenities by Roberto Cavalli.
