SEATTLE, WA— The Hotel Ändra, formerly operated as The Claremont Hotel, is set to open here in early April via investor Craig Schafer, who bought the property in 2002. The hotel, located at 2000 Fourth Ave. in the Belltown district, was originally built in 1926. The public areas are being renovated to create a more open and accessible environment. All guestrooms and suites are undergoing a complete refurbishment. The hotel will feature 119 guestrooms and suites, averaging over 400 square feet each and 4,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space. Guest services will include wireless Internet access, fitness facilities, business center, room service and valet parking. Howard S. Wright Construction Co. is the general contractor. Chef Tom Douglas will create and operate a new restaurant and bar, as well as provide room service and catering to hotel guests.
