Host Marriott Reports 1Q FFO

BETHESDA, MD Host Marriott Corp. recently reported its first quarter 2001 operations results. Diluted comparative FFO was $0.41 per share for the quarter, representing a 5% improvement over first quarter 2000 comparative FFO of $0.39 per diluted share. The company also reported EBITDA from operations was $238 million for the 2001 first quarter, an increase of 3% over EBITDA of $231 million in the 2000 first quarter. RevPAR for the company s comparable hotels increased 0.2% to $119.64 for the first quarter of 2001 versus $119.44 in the first quarter 2000.

Hotel sales for the first quarter 2001 were $838 million for 117 hotels and $29 million of rental income for hotels still leased to third parties. Total sales for all of the company s hotels were $901 million for the 2001 first quarter versus total sales of $891 million in the same quarter of 2000. The net income available to common shareholders for the quarter ended March 23, 2001, was $27 million compared to a net loss available to common shareholders of $58 million for the quarter ended March 24, 2000.
