WASHINGTON, D.C. HOTEL BUSINESS. has learned that Homewood Suites by Hilton is planning some controlled international expansion.
Jim Holthouser, vp/brand management for Homewood Suites, said the brand is looking to grow in three international markets initially Mexico, Puerto Rico and Canada. He said after the brand establishes a presence in those international locations, it will later turn to other international markets for growth as it continues a focused expansion pattern.
Holthouser hosted a group of industry press and city officials here April 26, for the opening of the 100th Homewood Suites property. A ribbon cutting ceremony was hosted by Hilton CEO Steve Bollenbach to commemorate the opening. (4/26/01) Kelly Wayne
