ATLANTA— Beginning January 12 Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts is introducing Low-Carb Inspirations, to its “Best-4-Breakfast” menu, reflecting the current trend of Americans participating in low-carbohydrate diets. Guests will have a choice of The Complete Omelet, a three-egg, cheese and vegetable omelet served with bacon or sausage and a strawberry garnish or South of the Border, two made-to- order eggs accompanied by slices of grilled chicken, fresh avocado and salsa garnish. Holiday Inn developed the items in conjunction with a third-party culinary firm, M.D.T. Ltd., which formalized the recipes and performed the carbohydrate-and-protein analysis. “As one of the worlds largest providers of sit-down restaurants, Holiday Inn serves more than 25 million breakfasts annually and weve noticed a steady increase in guest requests for low-carb menu options,” said Mark Snyder, svp/brand management, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, North America. “While weve always offered healthy, low-fat, low-calorie and even low-carb menu alternatives, Holiday Inn wanted to be sensitive to the needs of people specifically following low-carb diets.”
