LOS ANGELES— HOTEL BUSINESS® has learned Holiday Inn Express opened Dec. 12 a new $2 million, 47-room Holiday Inn Express here at Universal City. The new-construction property is independently owned by Bhagabhai Patel, president of R & R Real-Estate Developments, operated under a license agreement with Six Continents Hotels. The property is managed by Raj Patel. “With 19 developments in the greater Los Angeles and Orange County area, Holiday Inn Express is strengthening its portfolio in this market,” said Jenifer Zeigler, vp/marketing for the brand. “Development in the Los Angeles/Universal City area is important in establishing a strong presence in a prime tourist location and expanding our Holiday Inn Express consumer base.” “Holiday Inn Express is designed to be the smart choice for value-conscious business and leisure travelers,” said general manager Raj Patel. “At the new Holiday Inn Express Los Angeles-Universal City hotel, we offer guests a comfortable and affordable stay in a prime area for tourist attractions and site-seeing.” Situated in the Cahuenga Pass historic district, the hotel is proximate attractions such as Universal Studios, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Rodeo Drive.
