ATLANTA— Hotel broker Hodges Ward Elliott has reported $1.1 billion in transactions for the first two months of 2007, following a record-breaking year in 2006. In January and February of this year, the firm was involved in 43 transactions, representing 7,500 rooms. Topping the list was the 32-property CNL portfolio that sold for $405 million to affilates of Whitehall Street Global Real Estate Ltd. Transaction volume in 2006 totaled $5.7 billion, doubling the number of hotels and the aggregate dollar value of deals in 2005.
