HMBA’s Huff Dies

CLARKSVILLE, IN David Lawrence Huff Sr., a respected hotelier born November 20, 1936, passed away this weekend. Following stints in various other fields, Huff joined the Hotel/Motel Brokers Association (HMBA) in 1977 and started selling hotels and motels throughout Kentucky and Indiana. He remained an active member until 1996, serving as president of the organization in 1986 and 1987.

In 1981, Huff purchased the Best Western Green Tree here. At the time of his death he was general partner in this hotel and the Hampton Inn Clarksville and was limited partner in the Hampton Inn and Residence Inn at the Louisville Airport. In 1993, Huff became director of district VII of Best Western International, a position he held until October 2000. He also served on the boards of the Southern Indiana, Clark-Floyd Counties Convention and Tourism Bureau and the Greater Louisville Hotel/Motel Association. (1/13/01)
