BEVERLY HILLS, CA— Hilton Hotels Corp. plans to add 150 new hotels in the Caribbean and Latin America in the next five years, quadrupling its presence in the region. With an existing portfolio of 51 hotels in the region, the expansion will increase Hiltons presence in the area to more than 200 properties. Included in its plans for the Caribbean, Hilton expects to convert three resorts in Puerto Rico that are currently part of LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels, including the El Conquistador, to Hilton brands. Both LXR and Hilton are owned by the Blackstone Group.
