Hilton Signs Agreement for First Homewood Suites in the Caribbean

MCLEAN, VA—Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement with Inversiones Robledo, SAS—a joint venture between Proinversión and TVP Management—to introduce its Homewood Suites by Hilton brand to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Scheduled to open in Q3 2017, the new-build, 120-room Homewood Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo represents both the brand’s first hotel in the Caribbean and first hotel designed in line with its Caribbean and Latin America prototype.

“The signing of Homewood Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo is a great milestone as it introduces a new Hilton Worldwide brand to the Caribbean and our third hotel in the Dominican Republic,” said Tom Potter, SVP, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America, Hilton Worldwide. “This agreement helps pave the way for further Homewood Suites by Hilton expansion opportunities in the Caribbean and Latin America.”

The hotel will feature an open-concept lobby that flows into an indoor/outdoor living room and dining terrace, as well as 120 studio, one- and two-bedroom suites, all with fully equipped kitchens complete with microwave, full-size refrigerator, cooktop and cooking accessories. Rooms will offer clearly defined kitchen, living and sleeping zones, as well as ample work space, according to the company.

Dining options will include a full-service bar and lounge space for breakfast, lunch and dinner; a pantry with a kitchen look and feel offering ready-made snacks; and suite shop convenience store offering a variety of items for purchase.

The 11-story property will be located on Winston Churchill Ave., across the street from Blue Mall.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo will feature a fitness center and outdoor swimming pool, as well as more than 1,500 sq. ft. of flexible event space.

Hilton Worldwide currently has two hotels open in the Dominican Republic: Hilton Santo Domingo and Embassy Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo.
