BEVERLY HILLS, CA— Hilton Hotels Corp.’s board of directors has named Ernst & Young LLP as its independent auditor for 2002, replacing Arthur Andersen LLP. In a statement, Hilton Hotels said the decision to change auditors was not a result of any disagreement with Arthur Andersen on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure. Andersen was Hiltons auditor since 1981. During 2001, the Hilton paid Andersen $1 million in audit fees and $2.6 million in other fees, including $1.6 million in audit-related fees and $1 million in tax fees. SOURCE: Dow Jones Newswire
