Hilton Promotes Good Night s Sleep

BEVERLY HILLS, CA Hilton Hotels Corp. is currently running a promotion called the Pillow Take in honor of Better Sleep Month. The promotion, initially scheduled to run through May, is being extended into June in light of Hilton s recently renewed focus on ramping-up its special amenities.

The Pillow Take promotion allows guests staying in a Hilton Sleep-Tight Room the opportunity be sent an identical pillow to the one provided in the guestroom. Hilton is also providing guests with sleep sheets, which offer suggestions and guidelines for good sleep habits.

The promotion, according to Jeanne Datz, Hilton s director of brand communications, is the first in a series of initiatives that the company has long been looking to undertake, but could not because of the time-consuming nature of the Promus merger.

“The Sleep-Tight rooms are currently only offered at nine of our properties, but we are hoping to expand to more properties because of the marvelous customer feedback we receive from guests who stayed in these rooms, said Datz.

According to the company, Hilton HHonors members most frequently request to stay in the Sleep-Tight Rooms since these rooms are only promoted internally. The rooms are available at the Capital Hilton, Washington, D.C.; Hilton Beverly Hills; Hilton Chicago O Hare Airport; Hilton Hawaiian Village, Honolulu; Hilton New Orleans Riverside; Hilton New York; The Waldorf=Astoria, New York; and Hilton Garden Inn/LAX, El Segundo, CA.

But the Sleep-Tight Rooms, which were developed as a result of research conducted by the company in examining guests needs, are not the only specialty rooms Hilton developed. The same nine properties also feature Stress-Less Rooms and Health-Fit Rooms. Hilton plans to increase the number of all three types of specialty rooms within its system.

Among other things, Hilton s Sleep-Tight Rooms feature a Serta pillowtop mattress, a bed lounge chair, a CD/radio system, special blackout drapes, a Sony Dream Machine radio, a sunrise clock, light box and dual wake-up call. (5/23/01) Kelly Wayne
