Hilton Profits See Small Decline

BEVERLY HILLS , CA— Hilton Hotels Corp. reported that its second quarter net income fell 2%, hurt by a sharp cutback in business travel. The company reported net income of $86 million, or $0.23 per share, compared with $88 million or, $0.23 per share, a year ago. Thomson Financial/First Call estimated earning at $0.19 per share, with forecasts ranging from $0.18 to $0.22. Revenues for the quarter totaled $844 million, down from $916 million a year ago. The hotel operator said it remains comfortable with analysts estimates for the third and fourth quarters. Analysts expect $0.16 cents per share for both quarters, according to First Call.
