SAN JOSE, CA— Hilton Hotels and OpenGrid have joined forces to offer residents of the U.S. and Canada the ability to search for hotel information, book hotel reservations and access guest loyalty program information via Internet-capable, wireless devices using OpenGrid’s FastBook solution. A three-month pilot test was just completed for Palm OS PDAs (personal digital assistants). The companies will move forward with evaluating similar options for web-enabled and digital text messaging phones in the future including Pocket PCs, Windows CE-capable PDAs and RIM Pagers. The program can be downloaded from any desktop or laptop and uploaded into an Internet-connected Palm OS device to access wireless information and reservation services for more than 350 U.S. Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, and Conrad hotels.
