ANCHORAGE— Hilton Hotels Corp. has completed a $15 million renovation at Alaskas largest hotel, the 600-room Hilton Anchorage in Anchorage, Alaska. The 12-month project, which was designed by Meri Meis and developed by Anchorage-based Koonce Pfeffer Bettis Architects, incorporates a design of rich colors and textures that reflects many of Alaskas diverse cultures. The lobbys tones of reds, royal blues and golds combined with warm colored woods, stonework and slate create a welcoming atmosphere that matches the hotels signature Alaskan hospitality. The Hilton Anchorage now gives meeting planners eight new reasons to choose the hotel for their next business meeting or training session. The additional 6,000 square feet of flexible meeting and conference space, containing eight distinct state-of-the-art meeting rooms, is equipped with high-speed Internet access and video teleconferencing equipment. This new space is in addition to the existing 18,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom existing facility on the hotels second floor. The Hilton Anchorage also redesigned the Hooper Bay Cafe, an exciting full-service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. A health club and Kinkos business center are also available at the property. The Hilton Anchorage, located downtown at 500 West Third Avenue, is a block from the Egan Convention Center and the Alaskan Railroad Station. The hotel also is seven miles from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and just minutes from attractions such as the Imaginarium, Portage Glacier and the Anchorage History and Art Museum.
