PHILADELPHIA—HHM hotels across the country adjusted their exterior lights to a bright blue color to help kick off Autism Speaks’ “Light it Up Blue Campaign” for autism awareness in April.

At dusk, nearly 115 HHM hotels from New York City to Los Angeles accompanied iconic buildings worldwide such as the Empire State Building, the Sydney Opera House and the Comcast Center to to illuminate their properties.

“In the true spirit of [HHM’s] EarthView, giving back is a big part of who we are at HHM and as hospitality professionals,” stated HHM VP/Operations Joe Delguidice. “By participating together in this campaign, our hotels become part of something bigger than each of us individually.  We can really make a difference in the efforts to raise awareness about autism and its growing prevalence in the U.S.”

For example, the Hampton Inn Washington Downtown/Convention Center D.C. displayed blue lights while guest service agents at the Residence Inn Miami/Coconut Grove spoke to guests about Autism Speaks, and placed candles in blue mason jars throughout the lobby. Associates at the New York City TRIO hotels of Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square South, Candlewood Suites New York City/Times Square and Holiday Inn Express New York City/Times Square united by wearing blue as they informed guests about Autism Speaks and the Light it up Blue campaign. Country Inn & Suites in Humble, TX, welcomed guests with a blue entrance.

HHM provides turnkey hotel management, asset management and receivership for properties with  brand affiliations through Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and IHG. HHM also operates 28 independent hotels ranging from The Rittenhouse Hotel, a AAA Five Diamond property in Philadelphia, to the Larkspur Landing hotels, all-suites, extended-stay properties in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
