NEW YORK—Alfa Development will unveil its first boutique hotel project, HGU New York, this spring in the city’s NoMad District. The 10-story, 90-room hotel, is located between Park and Madison Ave. at 34 East 32nd St.
According to the company, the hotel will integrate the coziness of a NYC apartment, coupled with the New York centric vibe of the city, into a boutique hotel experience. Housed in a 1905 landmark building originally designed by architect Frederick C. Browne, HGU New York will feature contemporary art and state-of-the-art technology.
HGU New York has partnered with Gallery 151, a pop-up gallery based in Lower Manhattan. Gallery 151 will curate and oversee one-of-a-kind rotating art installations that will include handpicked pieces throughout the hotel’s shared spaces and within each guestroom. The art will draw inspiration from urban backdrops from New York City’s emerging artists and feature notables such as Fab 5 Freddy, Francesco Clemente and Jean-Michel Basquiat, among many others.
