HERSHEY, PA— Interval International announced it has awarded a Five-Star rating to the Vacation Club and Resort here. The Vacation Club and Resort is the only vacation ownership resort in this area where Milton Hershey built his famous chocolate factory in 1905 and created the surrounding community, according to Don Cappetta, managing partner of the resort. It features two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite accommodations with nearly 1,200 square feet of living space. David Gilbert, executive vp/resort sales and marketing for Interval International, said the Vacation Club and Resort will “further enhance our network,” which includes 2,000 resorts in 75 countries. To qualify for the Five-Star designation, resorts must first be evaluated according to Interval’s Quality Rating System, which assesses the location, facilities, accommodations and guest services. After qualification, the resort must maintain high levels of exchange guest satisfaction monitored by a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and regular on-site inspections by Interval personnel, according to Gilbert. Cappetta said the Five-Star rating will provide its owners with access to “unlimited vacation exchange opportunities” while offering Interval members the opportunity to experience “Chocolate Town.”
