Minneaolis–HEI Hotels & Resorts on Wednesday named the management team for the Westin Minneapolis, which is slated to open in early May in the historic Farmers & Mechanics Bank building in downtown Minneapolis. The company named Bill Weiberg general manager. He has more than 20 years of hospitality experience, most recently as the general manager of a Residence Inn owned by White Lodging Services Corp. “Im excited about the opportunity to help bring The Westins uncompromising vision of renewal, personal attention and instinctive experiences to guests in downtown Minneapolis,” Weiberg said in a statement. “I look forward to welcoming guests from all over the world to enjoy Westins inspired hospitality and Minneapolis cosmopolitan distinction.” Norwalk, Conn.-based HEI also named Patrick Clemons director of sales and marketing for the Westin Minneapolis. He previously served as director of corporate sales for two independent hotel companies, where he was responsible for increasing market share, establishing and maintaining relationships with clientele, and leveraging associations for new business opportunities.
