PORTLAND, OR— The Heathman Hotel, a Rim Corp. property here, has completed phase two of its million-dollar renovation, which encompassed revamping its tea court and lobby, and served to recreate both its image and guest service philosophy, noted the hotel. The goals of the phase two makeover were to both create a continuity between the hotels lobby and the tea court and create a “high-style” image that showcases the interest in, association with and support of the arts. Plus, it served to illustrate the hotels new service philosophy, which is based on a concept developed by the hotels management and service teams called personal concierges. To that end, lobby upgrades included replacing the reception desk with three guest relations consoles, refinishing the walls and ceilings and extending the Art Deco style from the tea court through the lobby via color furniture and lighting.
