LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL— Outstanding hotel real estate sales performances were recently recognized by Hotel Brokers International (HBI) at its 2002 Annual Meeting held recently at the Wyndham Palace Resort and Spa here. Patrick Ford, CHB, senior vp of National Hotel Realty Advisors, took home the top honor, HBI Broker of the Year. The award recognizes significant sales volume and participation in the associations program and activities. The Salesperson of the Year Award was presented to Steve Ferrarini, CHB, vp/ProCom Lodging Brokers. Jennifer Church, Milmark Hotel/Motel Investments, was named Rookie of the Year for obtaining 15 hotel listings and being the listing and/or selling agent in seven sales. Bill Moyer and Kurt Mockenhaupt, Donohoe Real Estate Services, received the 2001 Largest Single Hotel Sale Award. Together, they oversaw the sale of the Doubletree Park Terrace Hotel, Washington, D.C. For the second consecutive year, Steve Ferrarini and Fred Ferrarini, CHB, also of ProCom Lodging Brokers, captured the award for the Largest Portfolio Sale. Also retaining the award they won in 2000 were Roger Story, Motel Hotel Specialists, and Greg Meinhold, Pacific Hotel Motel Specialists, who again received the Most Co-op Sales Award. Additionally, Steve and Fred Ferrarini received the Unique Deal of the Year Award for the sale of the La Mancha Resort in Palm Springs, CA. The Noah Canfield Distinguished Service Award, was presented to Brandt Niehaus, CHB. Niehaus currently serves on the HBI Board of Directors and is a past president of the association. DeGeorge presented Dick Lopez, CHB, with the inaugural Presidents Award. Lopez was honored for his commitment, dedication and service to the association. Longtime member John McCullers, National Real Estate Investments, was inducted as a honorary lifetime member into HBI following his retirement in 2001.
