SAVANNAH, GA— Seven candidates are vying for spots on the Days Inn Franchise Advisory Committee Board here today as part of the Days Inn Worldwide conference under way at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center on Hutchinson Island on the city’s harbor. Outgoing chairman Subodh Patel of Lubbock, TX, is being succeeded by Days Inn veteran Jack Burns of Traverse City, MI. Advisory board positions are voluntary. A variety of contenders are looking to fill the slots being vacated by outgoing FAC members. The candidates include: Fred Widger, Eureka Springs, AR; Gene Rupnik, Springfield, IL; Tom Reeder, Wisconsin Dells, WI; Pragna Patel, San Luis Obispo, CA; Ash Patel, Flagstaff, AZ; Barry Cohen, Miami, FL; and Andy Buhla, Statesboro, GA. Both Rupnik and Pragna Patel are running for re-election. Calls for nominations from the floor during today’s general session did not produce any nominees. Stefani C. O’Connor
