HB ON THE SCENE: Carlson Shows Growth In 2004; Plans To Double Regent Portfolio

LOS ANGELES– Carlson Hotels Worldwide revealed that it opened 87 hotels and resorts in 2004, including 45 properties in the U.S. The company announced its growth at The Americas Lodging Investment Summit here, as well as revenue figures for 2004 in excess of $5.1 billion, an increase of 13.3 percent from 2003. Carlson ended the year with 890 properties operating in 79 countries. Carlson also announced that its Regent International Hotels portfolio will double in the next two years with the addition of four new hotels.
