Hampton Opens 19 Hotels During 1Q

MEMPHIS, TN Hilton Hotels Corp. recently reported that it opened 19 properties under its Hampton Inn and Hampton Inn & Suites brands during the first quarter ended March 31, representing an additional 1,844 guestrooms. This brought the brand s total numbers to 1,090 hotels and 112,796 rooms systemwide, compared with 999 hotels and 104,419 rooms as of March 31, 2000, representing an 8% increase in the total number of guestrooms year over year.

In addition to development growth, the Hampton brand experienced a 3.9% increase in occupancy and a 10.6% increase in RevPAR in the first quarter. (5/9/01)
