MAUI, HI— The Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa is implementing a no-smoking policy following a renovation of its 780 guestrooms and suites. Up until now, the resort was nearly 70% non-smoking, according to Patrick Blangy, director of sales and marketing at Grand Wailea. “Over the past several years, we have noticed a decline in the number of requested smoking rooms. We felt the implementation to all non-smoking rooms was a natural progression of what the overwhelming majority of our guests request,” Blangy said. Each room has undergone a thorough cleaning and has been carefully detailed and deodorized, Blangy added. Grand Wailea guests who choose to smoke may do so on their private balcony. Ashtrays are available upon request. Other areas within the hotel that conform to Maui County regulations are also available for smoking. The Grand Wailea Resort is part of the KSL Resorts Collection.
