BATON ROUGE, LA—Becoming the first hotel built in the area since the 1920s, the new-build Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown is scheduled to open next month. A full day of celebration is planned for the grand opening on Thursday, August 1, at 11 a.m. as Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden will introduce the community to this downtown addition.
The hotel is in close proximity to the historic Lafayette Street overlooking the Mississippi River. Managed by Hospitality America, Inc., the 137-room, seven-story hotel is also situated near the Shaw Center for the Arts, Downtown Greenway, the brand new Mississippi River Levee Bike Path, North Boulevard Town Square, museums, the Convention Center and Capital Park. Plus, the hotel is located within minutes of Louisiana State University and the Louisiana State Capital Building and Gardens.
“We are excited to be in Baton Rouge and part of the Downtown Development District’s ‘passion for progress’ in the downtown area. As an upscale Hampton Inn & Suites property we feel we are in exactly the right place, at the right time to host visitors to Baton Rouge and provide them with the best the city has to offer in accommodations, restaurants, shops, and a vibrant environment,” David Berger, VP of operations for the new-build hotel, said in a statement.
