FLORENCE, ITALY—The Grand Amore Hotel and Spa has opened here, part of the newly launched, family-owned Ricci Hotel Collection.
The 11-room boutique property is guest-centric, offering a brief pre-check-in questionnaire for first-time guests, asking for their preferences, from favorite flowers to their nightcap of choice and how firm or soft they like their mattresses.
The hotel was designed by the Italian architect Marianna Gagaliardi, whose past projects include the renovation of Florence’s Grand Hotel Villa Cora as well as the Hotel L’Orologio.
All of the Grand Amore’s furniture has been designed and crafted in Italy and the artwork reflects the city’s history with a modern edge. Black-and-white vintage photographs from Florence’s Fratelli Alinari hang on the walls, complementing the ivory, crimson and gray color scheme, while oversize, hand-tufted headboards make a statement in the guestrooms.
The Grand Amore’s Cuore Café Bistrot serves light fare for lunch with a focus on locally produced wines, seasonal produce, salads and oysters.
The Ricci Hotel Collection also includes the Be ONE Art & Luxury Home in Florence.
