NEW YORK— Rafael Gonzalez has been named restaurant chef at Café Pierre in The Pierre New York. Gonzalez is the former sous chef at Jean Georges. He began his career working for chef Gerard Madani at Le Pavillon in the Hotel Inter-Continental in Miami and in other experience worked in restaurants in Barcelona and Sebastian, Spain. At The Pierre, he will again be working with Madani, who is executive chef at the hotel. In his new position, Gonzalez will oversee the hotel’s 60-seat restaurant operation and will report to Madani.
