SILVER SPRING— The new position of vp/strategy and business development will have David Goldberg looking at ways to make it easier for franchisees to work with Choice Hotels. In an interview with HOTEL BUSINESS®, Goldberg, who was recently named to the new executive slot at Choice, said he will search for ways to streamline the service delivery process as part of an effort “to align ourselves with our franchisees needs.” Two areas identified as targets by Goldberg included franchise sales and quality assurance. “We want to make it easier for conversions to come into the Choice system,” he noted regarding the franchise sales efforts. As for the quality assurance issue, Goldberg said he wants to make sure that the essence of quality relates closer to guests needs. “My job is all about helping people,” said Goldberg. “Ill help our employees in aiding our franchisees.” —Shannon McMullen
