CHICAGO, IL— Thanks to an agreement between Hyatt Hotels Corp. and Hawthorn Suites, it was reported that— by early 2003— Gold Passport members will be able to earn Gold Passport points at all Hawthorn Suites properties. The agreement is billed as the first hotel partnership for Gold Passport, Hyatt’s 15-year-old award-winning frequent-guest program. “Becoming a partner in Gold Passport broadens Hawthorn’s relationship with Hyatt— which began with a reservations-referral agreement— and brings valuable and highly sought after benefits to our Hawthorn guests,” said Jon Leven, senior vp – marketing for U.S. Franchise Systems, the parent company of the franchisor of the Hawthorn brand. As laid out, Gold Passport members will earn three points per eligible dollar spent during Hawthorn Suites stays. Points will be redeemable at any Hyatt hotel or resort or Hawthorn Suites worldwide.
