WHITE PLAINS, NY— Twenty design firms, representing an international selection of lodging and restaurant properties, have been named finalists for the 22nd Annual Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design. Recognizing excellence in seven categories, the finalists were chosen from 180 entries. Categories include restaurants/seating to 110; restaurants/seating over 110; guestrooms; suites; lobby/reception area; senior living facility; and spa and resort. Each category has three finalists, including HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates (Atlanta) for Le Touessork Hotel & Spa, Trou Deau Douce, Mauritius/guestroom category; Anderson/Miller Ltd. (Chicago) for Westin Cupples Station, St. Louis/suites category; Cheryl Rowley Design (Beverly Hills, CA) for Hotel Monaco, New Orleans/lobby/reception area category; and The Gettys Group (Chicago) for the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago/spa and resort category. Grand Prize winners, in each category, as well as a Best of Show award, will be announced at the Gold Key Awards Breakfast, Nov. 11, 2002, during this years IH/M&RS, being held this year Nov. 9-12, 2002 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The awards breakfast will be held at the Waldorf=Astoria.
