LOS ANGELES Bob Cotter, president of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, gave his view on the future of the general manager in the hotel industry, while speaking at the UCLA Extension Hotel Industry being held here this week.

Cotter said he feels the industry must move toward having a business person who is customer focused run hotels at the property level. We have to get out of the mindset of hoteliers running hotels, he said. (01/18/01) Ruthanne Terrero
