HONG KONG—It’s better to give than to receive, and the team at Rosewood Hotels & Resorts is already in the holiday spirit with its holiday gift guide featuring 12 one-of-a-kind experiences at properties around the globe.
“At Rosewood, we describe our guests as ‘affluent explorers,’ those whose insatiable curiosity drives them to seek out new and remarkable experiences that go beyond the typical vacation. This curiosity inspired us to create the 12 Days of Rosewood holiday gift guide,” said Thuy Tranthi Rieder, group VP of sales and marketing, Rosewood Hotel Group. “These completely original, one-of-a-kind journeys are ideal gifts for passionate travelers, as they invite travelers to engage in the culture, heritage and sensibilities of the featured destinations in entirely new ways.”
Giving the gift of travel is a win-win situation, enabling less gift wrapping and more memory-making in new and exotic locales.
“Rosewood’s ‘Sense of Place’ philosophy is the guiding force behind much of our programming. We believe that each property should be a reflection of its location’s geography, history and culture, enabling guests to embark on memorable and authentic journeys,” she said.
To curate these experiences, Rosewood’s individual property teams were enlisted, as their familiarity with the area and knowledge of the local culture were integral factors in the creation of these gifts, explained Rieder.
“We wanted each experience to feature hidden gems of each culture that could only be uncovered with the help of locals,” she said.
In London, there’s the Aston Martin Discovery experience, which starts out with a helicopter ride to the automaker’s headquarters in Warwickshire, England. A consultation with the auto company’s chief creative officer awaits, followed by the creation of a custom DB11 V12 coupe and a private performance training session.

Music lovers may opt for the chance to have a private audience with their choice of actress Megan Hilty or fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi. They’ll sing to the gift recipient and 24 of their lucky friends at an elegant dinner at New York’s famous supper club, Café Carlyle.
Or, uncover the mysteries of Oaxacan art in Los Cabos, Mexico. Guests are whisked away on a private jet to Oaxaca to curate their own collection of Mexican art from a selection of notable artists, including a specially commissioned alebrije sculpture. Art enthusiasts will journey back to Ty Warner Mansion for four-night stay complete with a pampering stay of massages, a private chef, infinity pool and customized fireworks display.
In three words, Rieder describes the luxury gift guide: “Enchanted, engaged and inspired.”
In terms of the future, the brand is expanding its footprint globally and continuing to build on its “Sense of Place” philosophy, an essential part of curating the guest experience.
“It’s a very exciting time of global growth for Rosewood, with properties set to open in Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Hong Kong, Bahamas and California within the next year,” she said. “We look forward to helping our guests tap into the very best of each destination’s offerings, and discover new elements of a locale.”
