PLAINFIELD, IN—Gilchrist & Soames, a provider of cosmetic-grade toiletry collections for the luxury hotel market, has introduced four new collections—Gilchrist & Soames Royal, Shade, Guild + Pepper and Stem—designed to enhance the luxury guest experience. With premium, signature formulations and artful packaging, each collection encompasses distinct objectives to meet the needs of the modern-day traveler, according to Roys Laux, VP of marketing.
“In addition to travel and beauty trends, we look across many lifestyle categories to determine where there is opportunity to deliver a refined guest experience that will add value for hoteliers and their guests,” she said. “Each of these new collections is distinctive in its brand story, positioning, aesthetic and ingredient profile to align with the different motivators and values of hotel guests.”
The Gilchrist & Soames Royal collection, which pays tribute to the brand’s British heritage while attempting to remain modern, offers a fragrance that pairs white tea with citrus lemongrass, and accents the duo with a blend of pepper and white willows, as well as amber and musk. “The collection is well-suited to grand hotels and boutique properties with classic design and decor; those hotels that service guests looking for a refined, luxurious hospitality experience,” said Laux.
The Shade collection features bold colors and design-minded packaging, along with a fragrance blend of pink peppercorn, spiced musk and patchouli. “The collection is fun, modern and youthful, making it perfect for Millennial travelers, yet still showcasing timeless Gilchrist & Soames craftsmanship in its textured surfaces and inspired fragrance,” said Laux.
Guild + Pepper, which combines the characteristics of a modern, masculine apothecary collection with the nature of spice, features Old World botanicals of Irish moss, white oak, heather and green tea. “Across many lifestyle categories—from barbershops to local breweries—and handmade personal-care products, we see a trend toward modernizing classic experiences,” said Laux. “Guild + Pepper is a modern apothecary brand that is a perfect toiletry collection for hotels wanting guests to enjoy an authentic experience that is minimalist, yet warm and rich.”
Aiming to appeal to environmentally conscious consumers, the Stem collection features a natural fragrance of cucumber water, melon dew, white tea and teakwood. “From luxury ski lodges to urban properties with rooftop vegetable gardens, the Stem collection ties the values of a reduced carbon footprint and natural ingredients through to the guest’s shower experience,” said Laux.
Similar to all Gilchrist & Soames products, the new collections follow cruelty-free development and manufacturing practices. All liquids are free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oil and petrol-derived ingredients, and all bottles are made with highly recyclable, low-resin-weight plastic.
Temple Spa adds to collection
Gilchrist & Soames also distributes the Hotelier Collection by Temple Spa. In September, the performance skincare brand added new products to the range—a tri-fold, turndown wallet that houses two sleep products and the new Voyager collection.
The turndown wallet features Aahhh! Soothing Balm, which contains a blend of essential oils, and Feet and Repose Aromatherapy Resting Night Cream. The Voyager collection features 30-ml. tubes imprinted with the Temple Spa’s signature logo and varnished with bright colors, and product names such as Good Hair Day shampoo, In Good Condition conditioner, La La Lagoon aromatic bath and shower gel and Peace Be Still face and body balm.
“The refreshed Temple Spa Hotelier Collection provides a spa-like experience for guests and features vibrant packaging and witty product descriptions, and adds a lively splash of color and humor to hotel bathrooms,” said Liz Warom, managing director, Temple Spa.
Inspired by Mediterranean ingredients and lifestyle, the Hotelier Collection features fragrant oils to aid relaxation and aromatic botanicals to cleanse the skin, while ingredients such as jojoba and shea butter hydrate and soften the skin and hair.
“Temple Spa is unique for the hospitality industry in that it is backed by a development team of doctors, herbalists and professors of biochemistry and dermatology from Switzerland, Italy and the United Kingdom,” said Warom. “Carried in Harrods and Selfridges in London, the brand has a level of quality and status that can’t be found in traditional hotel amenities collections.” HB
