BEVERLY HILLS,CA— Gemstone Resorts, a hotel company that specializes in managing and asset managing hotels and resorts, has opened the first new full-service hotel here in approximately a decade— the 49-room luxury Mosaic Hotel Beverly Hills. It is Gemstone’s 10th property management assignment in the past 12 months and reflects a growing trend among owners of unique urban and resort hotels to select operators and asset managers that specialize in that lodging sector. Located at 125 South Spaulding Drive on the site of the former Beverly Hills Inn, The Mosaic Hotel is steps away from Rodeo Drive. The property is designed and operated to provide a blend of luxury and intimacy not available at the much larger hotels typically found in Beverly Hills. Working closely with hospitality design firm Duncan & Miller, Gemstone created the atmosphere of the hotel. The centerpiece is Mo’s, a restaurant/bar in a setting built around the hotel’s garden pool. The menu offers foods from around the world in the Spanish tapas tradition, featuring a variety of foods from “small bites,” to shared platters. Headquartered in Park City, Utah, Gemstone is a full-service operating and asset management company that specializes in luxury and upscale hotels and complex resorts that encompass a variety of components such as hotels, restaurants, retail, and resort amenities, including beach, golf or skiing, time-share and other hospitality-related activities.
